PETALING JAYA: Over 1.2 million voters will be eligible to cast their ballots in the Sarawak State Election on Saturday (Dec 18).

According to Election Commission (EC) secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak, there will be 1,866 polling centres with a total of 3,555 streams open state-wide from 7.30am to 5pm.

“A total of 1,213,769 voters will cast their ballots. The EC hopes that the electorates can fulfil their responsibilities to go out and vote,” he said in a statement on Friday (Dec 17).

He reminded voters to take all safeguards to protect themselves and others against Covid-19 infection, adding that voters who display flu-like symptoms would still be allowed to vote at special tents set up by health officials.

Ikmalrudin also advised voters to proceed to polling stations at the time proposed on the MySPR Semak application.
