Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is taking her ex-husband Wang Xiao Fei to court for failing to provide spousal maintenance as per their divorce agreement, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 46-year-old actress successfully applied to the Taipei District Court to seize Wang’s Taiwanese assets, which includes his shares in the popular S Hotel.

She claimed that he failed to pay an accumulated amount of more than TW$5mil (RM733,645) since March 2022.

According to Mirror Media, the court ruled that part of Wang’s assets in Taiwan could be seized due to the clear evidence submitted.

It is speculated that Wang ceased the monthly payment as a retaliation after Hsu got remarried to former boyfriend Korean DJ Koo Jun-yup in the same month.

After the news broke, Wang released a statement on social media explaining that he had continued to pay child support for their children and maintenance to Hsu.

However, he was unwilling to pay for additional family expenses and utility bills now that Hsu is remarried.

“Now that they are married, I should not be paying the utility bills for their house!

“I am also paying for the chauffeur and helper, and have never missed a single cent of the children’s school fees and living expenses!” he wrote.

It was earlier reported that Wang, 41, and Hsu got divorced in November 2021 after 10 years of marriage.

Many believed the marriage had broken down due to Wang’s affair with 26-year-old influencer-actress Zhang Yingying as the two were seen frequenting the same bars and were photographed wearing matching jewellery even when Wang was still married.

Despite initially denying the affair, Wang was later seen posting a photo of him holding Zhang’s hand during a vacation in China’s Guizhou province on social media but deleted it shortly after.
