KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional will contest the Beluran seat held by federal minister Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (GRS-Bersatu).

Sabah Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said late Thursday night (Nov 3) that they were fielding Sandakan Municipal Council president Benedict Asmat for the seat that has seen wrangles between Barisan and GRS.

Bung did not name the Beluran candidate on Wednesday (Nov 2). The seat was allocated to Barisan under the seat-sharing agreement between GRS and Barisan.

He also said they have changed the Barisan Umno candidate for Kalabakan who was initially announced.

He said that Tanjung Batu assemblyman Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy will be the new candidate for Kalabakan.
