At ANUGA 2019, the world’s biggest food trade fair, a new cook book with Malaysian recipes will be given to the visitors of the Malaysian pavilions.

“Favourite Recipes from Malaysia” includes delicious compositions by Malaysia’s famous chef Dr Shahrim Karim who will also be ANUGA in person, giving cooking shows and signing the cook book. The book is a collaboration between Malaysia’s External Trade Development Corporation MATRADE and MALAYSIA INSIGHTS.

Next to some of the country’s signature dishes such as satay, laksa and mee goreng, there are also some lesser known recipes and deserts that are easy to be prepared. Dr Shahrim Karim is a is a well-known chef in Southeast Asia and a Malaysian heritage food authority & specialist. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He has published various cookbooks and scientific papers on the importance of food as a cultural heritage. In addition, he regularly visits countries around the world to promote Malaysian cuisine.

The cook book also includes a directory of the Malaysian exhibitors at ANUGA 2019, taking place in Cologne, Germany, from 5. to 9. October.
