MELAKA: A man is believed to have killed his girlfriend before stabbing himself in the stomach following a heated argument at a house in Taman Merdeka here on Saturday (Feb 19).

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the 22-year-old woman was found dead with stab wounds, lying in a pool of blood.

He said the man, in his late 20s, was also found dead and is believed to have stabbed himself with a kitchen knife in his stomach.

“The woman managed to call one of her friends for help,” he said on Saturday (Feb 19).

ACP Christopher said the door of the house was locked when the friend arrived at about 4pm on Saturday (Feb 19).

He said the Fire and Rescue Department was summoned to break down the door.

He said the man is believed to have consumed kerosene before stabbing himself.
