PAGOH: The commitment between Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and PAS is solid and there should be no questioning the cooperation between both parties, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Perikatan Nasional chairman and Bersatu president said the two parties “sealed our cooperation” during a muzakarah (discussion) last month.

He dismissed claims that PAS was trying to seek cooperation with Umno ahead of the coming Johor state election.

“PAS is with Perikatan Nasional, in fact they are one of the founding members of the coalition.

“There is no need to continue denying or questioning PAS’ loyalty to Perikatan.

“We have had our muzakarah and presented our resolutions.

“This shows total commitment between our parties,” he said after launching Perikatan’s Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme at Dataran Pagoh Jaya here yesterday.

Muhyiddin, who is the Pagoh MP, said Perikatan would finalise seat negotiations by the weekend.

“Discussions are ongoing. There are 56 state seats and we will divide it between Bersatu, Gerakan and PAS.

“Once it has been finalised, the parties can focus on their respective areas to ensure Perikatan’s victory,” he said.

Asked if there was a possibility of any other party joining forces with Perikatan in the Johor polls, he said so far there was no discussion on this.

On Saturday, Muhyiddin announced that Perikatan parties would contest the Johor election using the coalition’s logo.
