PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,360 new Covid-19 infections on Friday (Nov 4), says the Health Ministry.

The Health Ministry said through data released on its KKMNow portal on Saturday (Nov 5) that this brings the new total to 4,918,917cases since the pandemic began.

Of the 4,360, four are imported cases while 4,356 are local.

The ministry also said through its KKMNow portal that there were 3,429 recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases in Malaysia to 35,539.

Of the active cases, 95.3% or 33,874 individuals are undergoing home quarantine, while 4.5% of active cases or 1,592 individuals need to be hospitalised, with 73 warded in intensive care units (ICU) throughout the country.

Of that number, 53 require ventilator support.
