PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who has been dropped as Barisan candidate in Ketereh, Kelantan, claims he is now the president of a new movement called Muafakat Nasional.

He claimed that it was registered on Sept 19, 2019, with himself as the president and the office bearers made up of his close aides.

In a Facebook post yesterday, Annuar showed pictures of a Registrar of Societies certificate for a party called Muafakat Nasional, not to be confused with the loose Muafakat coalition between Barisan and PAS, which has gone sour after PAS tied up with Bersatu.

However, Annuar later clarified that the new organisation, with a Klang address, was only an NGO and not a political party and could not be a platform in the elections.

Along with the certificate, the office bearers’ list shows Annuar as the president, Datuk Shahrul Nizam Yunos as secretary and Wizanie Zerith Shah Putra Shahrul Nizam as treasurer.

The other committee members include his political secretary Datuk Budiman Mohd Zohdi, his private secretary Datuk Mohamed Azam Ismail and his press secretary Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.
