Rumours have it that NVIDIA is planning on announcing its GeForce RTX 4060 Ti at the end of this month. More importantly, it is being reported that the company will be launching not one, but two SKUs of the card, as well as a non-Ti variant of GPU, but not all at the same time.

NVIDIA’s plan sounds a little confusing, but here’s the gist of it. The GPU brand will be announcing all three RTX 4060 GPUs at the end of May. The RTX 4060 Ti will be split into two SKUs, one with 8GB graphics memory, and another with double the amount at 16GB.

The 8GB RTX 4060 Ti will allegedly be available on the same day of its announcement, while the 16GB variant only be made available in July of this year. For that matter, the non-Ti version of the card will also be released in July. It’s confusing, we know. That aside, the launch window at the end of May does point at the possibility that NVIDIA is gearing up to make its announcement at this year’s Computex 2023, which isn’t all that surprising, given that its CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, is this year’s keynote speaker.

Beyond that, there still isn’t a whole lot of official details about the RTX 4060 Ti and the non-Ti SKU. Having said that, if we were to follow NVIDIA’s pattern with the launch of their graphics cards, the GPUs will possibly be using an AD106-350 GPU architecture, while the non-Ti version of the card may be fitted with an AD106-700 GPU. Naturally, they’ll still be using the Ada Lovelace, albeit less powerful versions of it, obviously. Of course, the obvious benefit of these cards over its direct predecessor would be the access to more modern in-game features, such as DLSS 3.

There is also the major question of just how much NVIDIA intends to price its RTX 4060 Ti and non-Ti cards. At launch, the RTX 4070 costs an eye-watering US$599 (~RM2643), which is wallet-gouging for a mid-range graphics card. If NVIDIA really wants PC gamers to ride the DLSS 3 wave, it may want to consider pricing these cards around the RM2000 median, or less.
