HTC has finally unveiled the U23 Pro after some teasing and massive leaks. The phone is the company’s first high-end offering in years, and while it’s definitely features some top of the line specs, the chipset it’s running on does keep it short from being a true flagship device.

The HTC U23 Pro sports a 6.7-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and has a rating of IP67 for dust and water resistance. Something that we rarely see on an upper mid-range smartphone these days is a 3.5mm audio jack, which the new HTC handset is equipped with.

Under the hood is where things get a bit underwhelming, as the U23 Pro is running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a mid-range SoC from last year. This is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with a microSD slot for memory expansion.

For the camera setup, the camera module houses four cameras made up of a 108MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 5MP macro lens, a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, it has a 32MP selfie snapper in a punch-hole cutout. Additionally, it ships with Android 13 out of the box and uses a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of it being under the display.

Powering the HTC U23 Pro is a modest 4,600mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. When it comes to connectivity, it is compatible with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The HTC U23 Pro retails at TWD16,990 (~RM2,517) for the base configuration of 8GB+256GB and TWD17,990 (~RM2,665) for the 12GB+256GB model. As a bonus, the phone comes pre-installed with the VIVERSE app and is compatible with the VIVE XR Elite mixed reality headset.
