Images and specifications of the yet-to-be-announced GoPro Hero11 Black action camera has made its way online, thanks to leakster Roland Quandt of WinFuture. These arrived ahead of the product’s upcoming launch which is said to be expected to happen around mid-September this year.
Based on the picture provided, the next generation GoPro action camera looks almost no different from its predecessor. In detail, the device sports a primary camera and a 1.4-inch LCD screen up front, while taking up a majority of its back is a 2.27-inch LCD touchscreen. Also visible is a Power/Mode button combo on its left, battery compartment and USB-C port on the right, and a record button on top. Lastly, situated below the Hero11 Black is a mount for attaching compatible tripods, grips, and so on.
In terms of specifications, Quandt says the new GoPro Hero11 Black will feature a new 27MP image sensor which comes with a wider field-of-view (FOV) when compared to its predecessors. This new sensor enables the camera to record videos at 5.3K resolution at 60 frames-per-second (fps), 4K at 120 fps, and snap photos at 24.7MP resolution. Also onboard is the brand’s signature HyperSmooth 5.0 digital-based image stabilisation technology, voice controls, and the ability to recognise smiles and blinks.
The leakster adds that the next generation action camera will use the same 1,720 mAh removable battery as last year’s model, which means that it may offer a similar 2.5 hours of continuous video recording in mild and warmer temperatures. On that note, Quandt did not detail whether the Hero11 Black would feature any improvements in terms of internal cooling, but he did note that the device is capable of withstanding water depths of up to 10 metres.
If the leakster’s information is to be believed, GoPro should provide us with more details regarding the Hero11 Black later this month during the supposedly upcoming launch. Naturally, you can expect its pricing and expected date of availability to be revealed at that time as well.
