DJI Mini 2 SE Malaysia launch price availability

DJI has recently launched the Mini 2 SE for the Malaysian market. Like its predecessor, the newer entry-level aerial drone arrived with little to no fanfare. But despite its quiet debut, it actually comes with decent upgrades such as increased flight range and other features, which somewhat justifies its higher RM 250  asking price.

For starters, the new Mini 2 SE shares the same design as the 2021 model and, in extension, the original DJI Mavic Mini from 2019. On that note, its measurements remain unchanged and its weight is retained at 249 grams. Of course, also present is the drone’s foldable form factor, which allows it to be easily stored in backpacks and other smaller bags.

It also features the same 1/2.3-inch 12 MP CMOS sensor equipped on a camera that’s mounted on a 3-axis gimbal in front of its shell. And like its predecessor, the drone’s onboard imaging system enables video recordings of up to 2.7K resolution at 30 p, but with an increased bitrate of 100 Mbps. New to the device is the ability to digitally zoom at 4x for 1080p footage, 3x for 2.7K resolution, and 2x for photos. QuickShots features including Dronie, Rocket, Circle, and Helix make a return as well, with the addition of Boomerang and Panorama modes now added to the mix.

A major improvement found on the Mini 2 SE is its increased range of 10 km, which greatly exceeds the 2021 model’s limit of only 4 km. This is due to the inclusion of the DJI’s OcuSync 2.0 technology, which is a significant upgrade over the Mini SE’s Wi-Fi transmission. Additionally, it also has a new max servicing ceiling above sea level limit of 4,000 metres, increased speed limit for S, N and C modes at 16 m/s, 10 m/s, and 6 m/s respectively, Level 5 wind resistance, as well as a slightly improved flight time of 31 minutes on a full charge.
